Can recent college graduates expect to be project managers right away? What is a typical career path for a project manager? Using the internet, research the average salary of a PM in South Florida. Is this for an experienced project manager? Which sites (URL) did you use to find average salaries?

Recent college graduates with the required formal education can receive entry-level jobs as junior project manager, project assistant or others. Organizations that value project management will  give off the experience needed to move forward in job title along with certification and post graduate education.

The average salary for PM in South Florida is roughly $75,000. Most jobs range starts from $50,000 so the $75,000 would be with experience

  1. When I searched I got a similar range of salaries. I wonder if the average salary in South Florida is lower than the National Average because of the lack of jobs or the competition because South Florida is such a great place to live?

  2. As a company looking to hire a project manager, I'm not sure it would be beneficial to hire a recent college graduate with no experience. I think both education and experience are necessary. Perhaps a college graduate can start out as a team member and work their way up. And as Kayso mentioned, the salary would increase as relevant experience is gained.

  3. It is pretty difficult to get a PM job with no experience. While doing your education requirements you should be looking into small time PM jobs even if you're not fully apart of the team. Easiest I know of is to look around your school for a job.

Business Analyst, QA / QC Analyst, UAT, etc.

Although I do know some PM's that got experince from the Armed Services, most of the PM,s start off in IT and work their way up
